Richard Jenkins,
who gained late-career momentum this year with his starring role in
the arthouse hit "The
Visitor," has joined the cast of "Dear John," a romantic
drama based on
Nicholas Sparks' best-selling novel.
Jenkins will play the father of a young
soldier (Channing
Tatum) who meets the girl of his dreams (Amanda
Seyfried) while on military leave.

New Line is developing a movie about Parkour�"a free-jumping
extreme sport in which agile practitioners run and jump from
rooftops." Set to star is
Channing Tatum,
who'll play a self-taught rooftop-jumper who falls for a beautiful,
classically trained Parkourist from the other side of the tracks.

New Line is planning production early next year on an untitled drama
about the free-jumping extreme sport Parkour with Richie Smyth
making his feature helming bow and Channing Tatum (upcoming
G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra) to
star.
Written by Kevin Lund and T.J. Scott, the drama revolves around a
pair of jumpers who use their skills in heists.
Parkour was featured in the opening sequence of
Casino Royale.
The
film will be produced by Temple
Hill partners Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey

"Battle In Seattle" starring Andre
Benjamin, Jennifer Carpenter, Woody Harrelson, Martin Henderson,
Joshua Jackson, Ray Liotta, Connie Nielsen, Michelle Rodriguez,
Channing Tatum, Charlize Theron and written and directed by Stuart
Townsend is the next film on the Redwood Palms Pictures slate. The
film is set for release in select theaters nationwide beginning
September 19, 2008. Based on actual events in 1999, when hundreds of
thousands of protestors took to the streets of Seattle in protest of
the World Trade Organization, the film follows fictional characters
who intentionally or accidentally find themselves on the streets of
Seattle in those last days of the millennium.

appear in the film. Its publicist, David Fulton, did not indicate
which actors would be involved in the prison scenes. Johnny Depp
